The parade on Red Square in Moscow on the occasion of Victory Day is taking place for the third time against the backdrop of a full-scale war to seize the territory of Ukraine, and, as the media note, every year its scale becomes more modest: there are fewer military personnel, less military equipment.

Against the backdrop of the active use of military symbols by the Russian authorities for propaganda purposes, Russian symbols were officially banned in Berlin: demonstrations of Russian flags, St. George ribbons, uniforms, orders, as well as symbols glorifying Russia in the war against Ukraine, including the Z symbol, near Soviet monuments. There should be no flags of a country waging a war of conquest in Berlin, said ruling mayor Kai Wegner. Soviet and Russian symbols are prohibited in the city during the protests on May 8 and 9.

In Berlin on May 9, there was a conflict over the Ukrainian flag, which was unfurled by activists in Treptow Park. This outraged those who came to lay flowers at the Soviet memorial. They insulted the activist and tried to drown out his conversation with a DW correspondent with loud music.

On May 9, clashes occurred in Berlin between the Russians (or possibly representatives of Russian intelligence who were trying to destabilize the situation in Germany in this way) and the German police.
