Thousands of people gathered in the central square of Yerevan, dissatisfied with the agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the delimitation of a section of the border.
The procession of citizens protesting against the agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the delimitation of a section of the border, which began on May 4 near the Armenian village of Kirants, ended on Thursday, May 9, with a protest rally of many thousands on the main square of Yerevan.
Archbishop Bagrat Galstyan, who led the protest, and the march participants demanded the resignation of the head of the Armenian government, Nikol Pashinyan, accusing him of failing to secure the republic.
Those gathered gave the Prime Minister an hour to resign. Galstyan expressed his readiness to hold a meeting with the head of government and discuss all the conditions for his resignation. After the time for a response from the prime minister ran out, the protesters extended the deadline by another 15 minutes.
Galstyan criticized Pashinyan for his foreign policy and accused the prime minister of the loss of Karabakh. The protesters are holding Armenian flags in their hands and chanting various slogans. It should be noted that on April 22, Pashinyan announced the start of the process of delimiting the border with Azerbaijan. Prior to this, the republic’s foreign ministry announced a preliminary agreement with the Azerbaijani side on the delimitation of the border near eight border settlements. Until May 6, 40 border posts were installed here.
